The Phileo Care Centre

The latest project to be launched by Renewal Christian Ministries is 'The Phileo Care Centre' for people who have emotional or mental challenges.

One in four in the population will need some form of psychiatric or mental help in their lifetime. With Pastor Dave recently taking the funerals of two men who took their own lives, he felt deeply challenged by the Holy Spirit to open a centre that would meet the challenges of a frightened and confused community.

Many churches assume all mental and spiritual illness is demonic - this is not true. Many suffer illness which is inherited, from drug abuse, a chemical imbalance, hormonal, through an accident, or from life's pressures, as well as those involved in perverse spiritual activity.

Dr. David E Carr's recent series 'Renewing the Mind', which grew from this conviction, was very well received by the Christian, none Christian and those involved in psychiatric medicine. In this series he shared his vision to purchase a property in the Worcester countryside, to convert into a Care Centre, to see people fully rehabilitated and taking again an active part in the community.

Over £20,000 was given immediately and people from all over the country have expressed an interest in supporting this venture. The Centre will be staffed by fully qualified psychiatric personnel with a strong Christian ethos, prayer, praise, counsel and therapy for short term residential patients and day visitors.
