We would be delighted to discuss the possibility of your marriage service being held here at Renewal Christian Centre.
There are a number of location options available to you for the service.
The Wesley Chapel, Renewal Christian Centre, Solihull
A second floor room (lift available), with contemporary stained glass windows - and perfect for a gathering of up to 100 people.
The Sanctuary, Renewal Christian Centre, Solihull
The ground floor auditorium, with seating for up to 1000 people (although the room can be sectioned with curtains if required, for smaller gatherings). The Sanctuary is a popular choice for couples who wish to share their service with the wider church.
Wren’s Cathedral, Wroxall Abbey, Warwickshire
One of our external congregation locations - and a beautiful setting for your wedding. The chapel can seat approximately 180 people.
The Commitment of Marriage
In order to prepare couples contemplating marriage, we offer ‘The Marriage Preparation Course’. It is not a requirement of arranging your marriage at Renewal, but many couples find that it is of great assistance to them as they embark upon their life together. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact the Church office.
Practical Arrangements
Step 1
The first step for you is to telephone the church office on 0121 711 7300 and check that the date you require is available. Your date will then be provisionally marked in the diary, pending your visit to us. Please note that your marriage ceremony will only be confirmed following your visit to us, and that, in some circumstances, we may be unable to offer the ceremony.
Step 2
Make an appointment to visit the Pastor for Pastoral Care, Rev Justin Marsh, to discuss your marriage.
Step 3
If your marriage date has been confirmed at Renewal, you will need to visit the Registrar in the district within which you live, to advise of the date you intend to marry. This is a legal requirement. The Marriage Act requires that you fulfil at least one of two requirements - either that one of the couple resides in the Solihull Borough, or is a regular worshipper at Renewal. You must give at least 15 days notice, but you can register up to one year in advance. You will need to take documents with you when you visit the registrar. Please check what is required before attending.
Step 4
Once you have registered your intention to marry with the registrar, you should make a further appointment at Renewal, to make arrangements with the minister for the actual marriage ceremony.
Step 5
A few days prior to the wedding, you will have the opportunity for a ‘rehearsal’ with the minister - other members of the wedding party and immediate family are welcome to attend if they so wish.
