Justin Marsh

Rev. Justin Marsh

Pastor for Pastoral Care

Justin has attended Renewal since 1987 working in many and varied roles within the church. He is married to Angela and they live in Solihull. Justin is a local lad, being born in Solihull Hospital in 1972 (3 months before Dr. David Carr started the church) and attended Langley Infant, Junior and Senior Schools, then Solihull Sixth Form College.

Justin studied at Renewal for many years, starting early in 1988 with the Foundations of Faith and Christian Witness course progressing to a 2 year Excellence in Leadership course which he passed with distinction in 1995. He was then accepted as a minister in training with the Elim Pentecostal Church, undergoing training under the guidance of Regents Theological College, Nantwich. He was ordained in 2001 at the Elim Conference, Prestatyn. When Renewal became a Free Methodist Church in 2002 his credentials were accepted by the Free Methodist leadership and May 2002 saw him receive Eldership status with them.

A most reluctant convert to Christianity - only coming to church to silence an Aunt - an agreement being made that meant that Justin only needed to visit once and she would never mention the church again! The expression of love and family he felt in the church simply blew him away and he got hooked.

Justin's role in the church is primarily providing Pastoral oversight to the central church. The integration of cells to the body being a priority, enabling the believers to have fellowship, accountability, support and encouragement. In the cells people will be able to pray for one another and also for their friends and families. He will co-ordinate all central Pastoral functions and be responsible under the senior minister for the team of people who have been called to assist in this work.

The training and discipleship of new believers is close to Justin's heart and he remains an integral part of the leadership of the Alpha course. He is an Alpha Adviser for Solihull working for Holy Trinity Bromptom, the home of the Alpha course.

So watch this space as the growth of cells develop and expand, begin to seek God as to how you might be involved in the overall vision of the church to see 7,000 Spirit-filled believers worshipping together in the heart of England. Justin's desire is to see the believers trained and equipped for the work of the ministry thereby taking every opportunity to spread the good news of the gospel to our generation.
